What Sets Us Apart?

Qualifications You May Be Looking For In A Financial Planning Firm

  • ✓ Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)

  • ✓ Independent

  • ✓ Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®)

  • ✓ Fiduciary Oath

  • ✓ Accountable To Our Clients and Provide Unbiased Advise

In Addition To Meeting  All The Above Qualifications, Alexander Financial Planning Further Differentiates Itself From Other Fee-Only Firms

  •  Longevity Counts. Our firm has been providing financial planning services for more than 20 years.

  • Seasoned  Advisors With Years Of Experience. Our investment experience and strong working knowledge of the State of Ohio pension systems (OPERS, STRS, SERS) goes back to 1982.

  • Education Is A Life-Long Pursuit. As financial planners, we love to learn and teach. It is our mission to provide you a wealth of knowledge and incorporate this into our planning for you.

                     Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®)

Masters in the area of Financial Planning (MSFP)

  • Trained To Be A Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®).  You may not be familiar with this designation, but it is a designation that compliments the CFP® mark. A CFP® is trained in meeting the technical side of money. A CeFT® is trained to help you through the emotional side of money. In order to become a CeFT®, an advisor must have at least five years of direct client contact and have already earned a CFP®, a CFA®, a CIMA®, or CPA/PFS® designation.

Few advisors are trained to understand the emotional side of money, yet this is so often where money decisions are made. When you are going through a major life change, you need an advisor trained in the technical as well as the personal side of money to navigate what is impacting you. If your current financial advisor is not equipped to do this for you, where does that leave you? We have learned that when life changes money changes, and when money changes life changes.

  • A National Association Of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) Member.  This is a smaller sub-set of Fee-Only financial planners who have meet their stringent requirements and have been selected to be a part of this organization.
  • Founded By A Woman. This is pretty unique for this profession. Statistically 80% of advisors are male and less than 5% of advisory firms are owned by a female. Less than 2% of those financial advisory firms have been in business for more than 20 years. We have continued to blaze trails and we are often early adopters of changes in our profession when it is warranted.

  • Multi-Step Comprehensive Financial Planning. We have designed a very well-defined planning process. Our financial planning meetings are interactive where we work through real-time “what –if” scenarios. We provide our Wealth Management Clients with a personal financial website so they can see all their accounts, spending plan, and net worth updated daily and on one page. The website also provides a vault for clients to store important documents such as tax returns, estate documents, and insurance policies, to name a few.

  • Provide Tools To Enhance Our Client's Planning Experience. Technology and our profession of personal financial planning is changing at a rapid pace. As this unfolds we offer our clients the tools to help make their lives easier, more manageable and secure. One area of focus has been in keeping our clients safe as they get older. Elder abuse is a sub-set of this larger issue. We have incorporated into our planning some tools to address this growing area and to be more proactive in what lies ahead.
